What does Forgiveness mean?
By forgiveness, we mean the letting go of our past and perceptions of situations or events holds us hostage. Letting go does not prevent us from being happy. Only our willingness to see a person in the light of love rather than his or her actions will set us free.
We cannot change the past, but we can release our negative perceptions of the past from coming into our present lives. To do this, we have to change our thinking and let go of the past.
People often speak of forgiveness, this does not mean you accept what happened to you but rather accepting that the situation occurred. In other words, it was not OK but it did happen and you must accept the latter and find a way to move forward.
Forgiving is giving up the hope, not continuing to hold on hoping and wishing that it could have been different from what it was. You must give up the hope that the past could be any different.
You need to let go so that the past does not continue to hold you prisoner.
Marianne Williamson in “A Return to Love” says;
It is so much easier to bless and pray for someone than blaming them. Blaming is toxic and is an expression of anger and bitterness. It is like, praying for that person to behave differently or for you told not be bothered.
The universe is self-organizing and self-correcting. It is aware of injustices and people who are disloyal and have betrayed or harmed you. The universe has a way of making sure that you will get back whatever materials were taken from you. Marianne calls it the “Principle of Divine Compensation”. However, if your heart is closed you will not be able to receive the miraculous new possibilities that the universe has in store for you.
The Principle of Divine Compensation means, if I have a positive experience with you and I in turn do something wrong I will deflect the miracle. Something wonderful could have happened but I deflected that miracle. The good news is that Holy Spirit holds “Divine Compensation” in trust for you until you are ready to receive it.
As long as you keep your heart open, the universe will find another vessel, another way to get your miracle to you. It could be through another person or at a different time or place. Whatever love is yours, is there in the universe.
Just like the embryo that sustains a baby in the mother's womb, your life is already programmed in the mind of God. Everything has been programmed by the universe, your blueprint of life is there filled with many joys and miracles.
Does it matter what you do?
Absolutely! Think of files on a computer that you download to get what you need. If your heart is not open, you cannot download the possibilities on earth, as it is in heaven. Your blueprint is a file, an undeletable file and if you do not bring it down to your screen, you are stuck with your blurred vision and bitterness.
Understand that this does not mean it’s not in the computer. It just means you have not opened the file yet!
So open up to possibilities by forgiving & praying. You will see the miracles of universe.
